AuroNile operates Auro party, an online multiplayer trivia and word game. This policy covers the Android app and the game website. You can play without registering an account. Choose a nickname instead of your real name, and do not put sensitive personal information in your answers or question packs.
Information used to run the game
- Your chosen nickname and avatar, an anonymous player/session identifier, room code, answers, confidence points, scores, reactions and gameplay settings. Session tokens protect access to your room and are not shown to other players.
- Question-pack names, questions, answers and accepted spellings you choose to publish. Published packs appear in the game library and are available to other players. A pseudonymous creator identifier supports creator blocking without exposing the creator's private token.
- When you join a room, we send its players your active/background/unfocused/disconnected state and, during unanswered questions, the count of departures from the play window. We use app lifecycle and focus signals. We do not read other apps, browser history, screenshots, contacts, files, messages, camera, microphone or location. A focus alert does not prove cheating and some overlays cannot be detected.
- If you submit a content or player report: the reason you write, an anonymous reporter identifier, reported pack or room/player identifiers, and relevant visible content for moderation. Reports are private to the support/moderation team, not the public game library.
- If you contact support by email: your email address and the information you include. Please do not send private session tokens, passwords or unnecessary personal information.
Why we use this information
To create and join rooms, synchronize multiplayer rounds, evaluate answers, show results, prevent misuse, handle reports and requests, and support you. We do not sell personal data. Android versions 1.0.6–1.0.7 included optional adult advertising; from 1.0.8, age-aware non-personalized advertising is available across age groups. Advertising placements are a home banner and an interstitial between the final question and final standings. Earlier versions and the web game do not contain this native advertising integration. There are no paid purchases or paid stakes. Confidence points are game scores, with no monetary value.
Who can see it
Your room's players see nicknames, avatars, scores and window-state alerts. Your answers remain hidden from other players until reveal; then they can see them. Published custom packs are public. AuroNile and service providers involved in hosting, database storage and secure delivery process data needed to operate the service. The current service uses OpenAI Sites hosting, Cloudflare infrastructure/database delivery, Google Fonts and Google Play update services. These providers may process network information such as IP address, user agent and security/operational logs under their own policies. Game-hosting request information is used for service delivery and security. Advertising providers have the separate data practices described below. The policy/support site may be hosted on Netlify, which receives normal web-request information when you visit it. Data may be processed outside your country.
Local storage and permissions
The app requires internet access. Local storage holds sound preferences, acceptance of the terms, and the anonymous creator-blocking list. Browser session storage keeps the room session and the anonymous pack-creator token to support reconnecting and publishing during the session. We do not request camera, microphone, storage, contact or location permissions. Google Play manages eligible app updates.
Android advertising
From Android 1.0.6, Google AdMob may process and share IP-derived approximate location, advertising/app/device or account identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic data for advertising, measurement and abuse prevention. Advertising processing may occur internationally under Google’s privacy policy. We do not pass room codes, player names, session tokens, answers or scores to the ad SDK. No precise-location permission is requested.
Versions 1.0.6–1.0.7 offered advertising only to adults who opted in. From Android 1.0.8, ads are available across age groups, without a separate ad-free toggle. A neutral birth-year field in the player setup is stored on this device only, and is not sent to our game server or passed as a birth year to Google. It determines child-directed and under-age-of-consent request settings. We request non-personalized ads with a General content rating for everyone; this is a request setting, not a guarantee about every third-party creative. Version 1.0.8 removed advertising-ID and Android Ad Services permissions. From version 1.0.9, the AD_ID permission is restored for eligible older users, subject to Android privacy controls and applicable consent. Child-directed and under-age-of-consent settings instruct Google not to transmit the Android advertising ID for those users. Ad SDK initialization waits for the local birth-year setting and permission to request ads from Google UMP. Android Ad Services permissions remain removed. Non-personalized ads can still process permitted identifiers and network data for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Google UMP checks consent requirements and displays required forms. Available legally required privacy choices can be revisited using Privacy settings. A refused consent or unavailable ad must not prevent playing. Google retains provider data under its policies; clearing local data does not erase provider records. No other mediation networks are configured.
Retention and deletion
Rooms expire 24 hours after creation. Expired room records are automatically cleaned up during subsequent use of the service, so physical removal may happen later if the service is inactive. Published packs remain until removed by moderation or in response to a verified request. The active moderation retention period is 180 days. Older reports are removed when subsequent reports are processed; physical removal may occur later if the service is inactive. Support emails and provider logs may be retained while needed to resolve requests, maintain security or meet applicable obligations. Local preferences can be cleared through the app/browser's data settings.
To request access, correction or deletion, email hello@auronile.com with “Auro party data request”. Include the room code, nickname and approximate play time, or the pack name/ID. We may request enough information to verify the request. Do not send your private session token. There are no registered user accounts to delete. Some moderation or security records may need to be retained for legitimate obligations.
Player safety and children
Children should play with a parent or guardian supervising room participation and shared content. Do not share real names, contact details or other personal information in player names, answers or packs. Parents may contact us about children’s data. Players can report packs and players inside the game, block public pack creators on their device, leave a room, and ask the room host to remove a player. AuroNile reviews reports; reporting does not guarantee immediate removal. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us for review and deletion where appropriate.
Security and changes
Game data is transmitted over HTTPS. No system can guarantee absolute security. We update this policy as features and data practices change; the current policy is available here and inside the app.
